It has been FOURTEEN YEARS since Mark Strahl was first awarded the seat of Member of Parliament for Chilliwack-Hope by virtue of carrying his father's good name.
What has Mark Strahl and his Conservative Party done for you in those 14 years? for Chilliwack? Cultus? for Yarrow? Greendale? for Rosedale? the Hillsides? for Hope? Agassiz? What has he done for others - who are not his constituents - by taking money from your wallet to do so?
What has Mr Strahl done for unemployed and unhoused Canadians while "refugees" receive tens of thousands of Canadian tax dollars in federal and provincial financial support? What has Mr Strahl done while our veterans and elders lose everything due to inflation and end up homeless on the streets or line the crowded hallways of emergency wards only to receive sub-standard care in Public-Private Partnership hospitals that measure success in dollars saved not lives?
The list of critical core service failures in Canada is as long as anyone's arm these days. The Conservative Party is satisfied to stand aside and watch Canada burn rather than do their job as the Official Opposition and actually oppose the abusive Liberals and NDP - and the opportunistic Bloc. Does Mr Strahl intervene on behalf of his constituents? Does he stop the damage caused by an out-of-control totalitarian government that has no respect for the rule of law? Why not? Because Mr Strahl stands in accord with 120 Conservative Party MPs - who count for MORE THAN ONE THIRD of the 338 sitting MPs - who are hellbent on letting foreign unelected agents and agencies dictate the future of Canada.
And the coup de grace is in the pension scandal. The confidence game played by the Conservative Party to draw the public eye away from their own gains is worthy of a W5 expose - if the CTV still had any journalistic integrity left in its grift-stained hands. Of the 80 pensions that were secured for sitting MPs of all parties, the Conservative Party claims 32 of those pensions (1 in 4 of every CPC MP), more than any other party!
Pierre PoiLIEvre says, "We'll fix it when you elect us to lead the government." And if he says it then they all say it. And that includes Mr Strahl et al in the Fraser Valley. That's called "blackmail".
What has Mr Strahl done for you in the last 4 years? In fact, Mr Strahl been absent from his job since before Christmas! During this prorogued Parliament, which his party did not resist, nor did it seek recourse, and neither did it file a grievance, Mr Strahl received a salary of 3 months for NOT showing up to work! That's about $50,000! For doing LITERALLY NOTHING. Not figuratively. Literally. Doing nothing.
Starting as an intern under Preston Manning of the famed Reform Party, Mr Strahl has long since lost his way as a career politician. It's time to clear the grifters and graft out of the pigs' trough that has become the House of Commons and install Members of Parliament who actually represent the residents who pay their salaries.
The pigs have moved into the farmer's house.
Mark Strahl has had long enough of an underwhelming performance while enjoying re-election after re-election after re-election solely on the value of his father's hard-earned reputation and good name. And what of the other Conservative Party Members of Parliament who represent more than 500,000 citizens in the Fraser Valley?
Ed Fast? $50,000. Brad Vis? $50,000. Tako Van Popta? $50,000. Newly-elected Tamara Jensen? Only one month, $17,000.
There are nine more CPC MPs across the province of British Columbia. You have paid almost $700,000 to Conservative Party MPs in BC who have not bothered to show up to work because they want YOU to know how badly you hate the Liberals for things the Cons permitted on their watch in your name and using your wallet.
You have been conned by your own trusted representatives, the Conservative Party of Canada.
The Conservative Party has dodged its responsibility to its supporters and its constituents for far too long. Those we pay to speak for us have chosen silence. In Canadian law "silence is compliance". Instead, they permitted the government to repeatedly fleece you to the point of debt-subsistence and family collapse. By their silence, by their inaction, they are complicit with the Liberals and the NDP, and the Bloc, and the Greens.
We do not reward bad behaviour! It is high time to act.
The Fraser Valley Regional Association supports the local activities of the People's Party of Canada candidates in the Fraser Valley. Among these are Jeff Galbraith of Chilliwack-Hope and newly-appointed Carlos Suaréz Rubio of Abbotsford-South Langley. They are capable leaders and are passionate communicators about the grassroots and libertarian ideas that reflect the traditional and family-centred values on which Canada was founded and around which our culture as Canadians was formed.
The autonomy of the citizen. And minimal government. Fiscal responsibility. And honourable behaviour befitting a statesman, not poor excuses for political representation as are these 338 sitting Members of Parliament.
